Dr. Nigel Symss

Dr. Nigel Symss is a Senior Consultant Neurosurgeon based in Chennai with over 16 years of experience in both brain and spine surgery. He is known for his work in skull base surgery, functional neurosurgery, cerebrovascular surgery, and complex spinal procedures. He has performed more than 5,000 neurosurgical procedures across adult and pediatric patients — a breadth of experience that gives his patients and their families real confidence when facing some of the most difficult diagnoses imaginable.

Dr. Symss trained in India and then went on to complete multiple international fellowships that shaped his approach to neurosurgery. He trained in pediatric neurosurgery and neuro endoscopy at Jikei University School of Medicine in Tokyo, Japan, and later spent extended periods at Flinders Medical Centre and the Women's and Children's Hospital in Adelaide, Australia, focusing on spinal, functional, and micro neurosurgery.
