Dr. M. Anbuselvam

Dr. M. Anbuselvam is one of Chennai's most experienced neurosurgeons, with over four decades of practice spanning complex brain and spine conditions. Currently a Senior Consultant at Rela Hospital, he is known for his calm, methodical approach to some of the most intricate surgeries in medicine — from brain tumour removal and epilepsy surgery to deep brain stimulation and the management of cerebrovascular malformations.

His academic foundation is exceptional. He completed his MBBS at Government Kilpauk Medical College, Chennai, before going on to pursue his MCh in Neurosurgery at the Institute of Neurology, Madras Medical College — one of India's most respected neuroscience training centres. He graduated with the Prof. S. Kalyanaraman's Gold Medal, a recognition of both his surgical skill and his academic dedication. He later returned to the same institute as a faculty member, contributing to the training of the next generation of neurosurgeons.

For over sixteen years, Dr. Anbuselvam served at RIPAS Hospital in Brunei Darussalam, where he held senior clinical and administrative responsibilities within the Department of Neurosurgery. He also taught at the University of Brunei Darussalam as a visiting lecturer and OSCE examiner. After returning to India, he joined Apollo Speciality Hospitals, Chennai, before taking on his current role at Rela Hospital.
