Dr. Shibal Bhartiya

Dr. Shibal Bhartiya is one of India's most respected ophthalmologists, with a career spanning more than two decades of dedicated eye care. Based at Marengo Asia Hospitals in Gurugram, she serves as Clinical Director of Ophthalmology and also leads the hospital's Community Outreach and Wellness programme. Her clinical focus lies in glaucoma, neuro-ophthalmology, and diseases of the ocular surface — areas where she has built a reputation that extends well beyond India's borders.

Dr. Bhartiya's training journey reads like a map of the world's finest ophthalmic institutions. She completed her MBBS and MS in Ophthalmology at Maulana Azad Medical College in New Delhi, then went on to pursue a Clinical Research Associateship in Cornea and Glaucoma at AIIMS' Dr. R.P. Centre for Ophthalmic Sciences. She later trained in glaucoma at the University of Geneva in Switzerland, received training in clinical neurosciences at the Hôpitaux Universitaires de Genève, and has collaborated as a Research Fellow with the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida. She is currently enrolled in a Doctorate en Médecin at the University of Geneva — a testament to her lifelong commitment to learning.
