Dr. Ashok Rajgopal is the Group Chairman of Orthopedics at Medanta – The Medicity in Gurugram, India, with over 50 years of clinical experience in orthopedic surgery. He holds the degree of MCh (Ortho), MS (Ortho), MBBS, along with fellowship credentials from the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS) and the International Medical Sciences Academy (FIMSA), establishing him as one of the world's most accomplished orthopedic surgeons.

Dr. Rajgopal is internationally recognized as a pioneer in joint replacement surgery. He has completed more than 39,000 total knee replacement surgeries and performed over 60,000 arthroscopic procedures for sports-related injuries. His technical innovations include designing instruments for minimally invasive total knee replacement that are now used by surgeons globally, and he was part of the design team for the Persona knee system developed by Zimmer. He was the first surgeon in India to perform bilateral total knee replacement, the first to introduce minimally invasive joint replacement techniques, and the first to use virtual total knee replacement with patient-specific instrumentation and gender-specific knee implants.
